Advising Estya and its management on its sale to Charterhouse Capital Partners

Moncey Avocats has advised ESTYA, the French leader in fire protection and security systems, and its management on its sale to Charterhouse Capital Partners, a European private equity firm.

Founded in 1974 and based in Paris, ESTYA has enjoyed remarkable growth, tripling in size by 2021 to reach sales of around €120 million. The company, which has 15 branches in France, offers a comprehensive range of services in electronic fire detection, smoke extraction, compartmentalisation, gas detection and electrical safety. This transaction was carried out in partnership with ESTYA's management, which is reinvesting in the company, and alongside Chequers Capital, which remains a significant shareholder.
This acquisition is in line with Charterhouse Capital Partners' investment strategy of targeting “defensive growth” companies in the services and healthcare sectors. It follows other Charterhouse investments in 2024 in companies such as Metrodora, Skin Tech Pharma Group and Two Circles.

ESTYA was advised by a team from Moncey Avocats comprising:

  • Guillaume Giuliani, Marie-Victoire James, partners, Alexandre Bankowski, counsel, Alix Auclair and Pénélope Renard, lawyers on corporate aspects.
  • Frédéric Bosc, partner, Margot Bosc and Mathilde Cotillon, lawyers, on tax issues.
  • Camille Cournot, partner, specialising in employment law.
